An Artist's Gathering and Networking Event combined with the 2024 Seed Funding Scheme Clinic for Baltinglass and West Wicklow Artists will take place on Monday, the 11th March, at 7.30 pm, in Horan's in Baltinglass.
Paula Phelan, a musician and an accredited coach and mentor specialised in the creative sector, will facilitate the Gathering and Monika Sapielak, the creative Places Baltinglass Coordinator, will present the 2024 Seed Funding Scheme.
The event will offer the potential applicants an opportunity to ask any relevant questions and network with their local peers. It will also feature some of the successful applicants from 2023 who will share their experience with the grant and their recommendations.
The awardees of the Seed Funding 2023 were Eoin O'Malley with his happening Tracks, Gerard Gormley with his film Trash, John Hughes with his film The Fuel of Youth, Mairead Kelly (Inisfail Social Circle) with her Audio Tour for The Hillfort Capital of Ireland, Siobhán Madden with her Community Dye Garden project and last but not least Mark Caplice with his collaborative intercultural music project Building Bridges.
Led by Wicklow County Council's Arts Office, the Seed Funding Scheme has been implemented to support the creative community in Baltinglass and is an important part of the delivery of the Creative Places Baltinglass programme funded by the Arts Council of Ireland.
The event is free, but booking is required. To book your free ticket click here.
The Creative Places initiative provides an opportunity for places that had not benefitted from sustained arts investment in the past to develop their local arts programmes, explore the existing cultural strengths, empower community participation and support local artists.
Creative Places Baltinglass is managed by the Wicklow County Arts Office and is part of the national Creative Places Programme developed and funded by the Arts Council.
