Rathcoran residents and interested volunteers from Baltinglass are invited to join three gardening and planting workshops that will take place this spring in Rathcoran Estate.
The workshops will be facilitated by Suzie Cahn, an artist and permaculture expert, and are scheduled on Saturdays, 2nd March, 25th May and 22nd June 2024 from 10.30 am to 4 pm, in Rathcoran Estate green area with some gardening practice being carried out in the adjacent Tearmann Community Gardens.
The overarching aim of the workshops is to support Rathcoran residents to get involved in designing and creating their new community garden and styling the green area connecting the estate with the town to better join the community with their surroundings.
Building on the introductory workshop from last autumn, this series of workshops will also promote a shared understanding of the green spaces near and within the Rathcoran estate, encourage a sense of connection and stewardship towards the environment, and foster a relationship with the non-human residents in the area.
Suzie's vision for the project and Rathcoran community is "learning, healing and sharing creativity found in both nature and art."
