At Tearmann Community Gardens

This inspiring community project brought together people of all ages and abilities through a series of four Eco Art and Craft workshops held at the Tearmann Community Gardens in Baltinglass. Participants used natural materials like seeds, straw, clay, and shells to create unique crafts, fostering creativity and environmental awareness.

The project involved sowing wild Irish plants in the garden, with participants observing their growth through the seasons. A herbarium was created, cataloguing local plants with information about their uses, medicinal properties, and potential for creative applications, such as making natural paints.

The workshops offered families a chance to connect with each other away from screens, encouraged individuals with special needs to socialise and integrate into the community, and promoted self-confidence and new friendships among participants. The project highlighted the importance of sustainability while showcasing the creative potential of natural materials.
